School Information
Alanbrooke Community Primary School is conveniently situated outside the main entrance to Alanbrooke Barracks, Topcliffe, Thirsk. Many of our pupils live either on the barracks or surrounding villages of Topcliffe or Carlton Miniott. This enables most of our pupils to walk to and from school and thus take part in the variety of after school activities we have on offer throughout the year.
Alanbrooke is a well equipped school, blessed with wonderful outdoor facilities. Our school grounds are surrounded by trees and include an adventure playground, gardens, large playground and field, as well as a Forest School area.
Our curriculum takes full advantage of new technologies as every classroom has interactive TV, several desk top computers and access to iPad minis to enable pupils to have access to the Internet. We also have mobile laptops that can be used anywhere in school for classes to use computing skills across the curriculum.
Our curriculum is broad and balanced. It responds to needs of all pupils and ensures that they achieve their full potential by helping them develop into young people and adults who are ready for life in modern Britain. We take pride in our curriculum addressing the spiritual, moral and social development of children, whilst striving for excellence and high standards at all times.
There are always exciting comings and goings at Alanbrooke. We are skilled at welcoming new families and helping pupils settle quickly.
Our classes are mixed age, but the children are taught as Year groups and individuals, with activities planned appropriate to their needs and abilities.
