Extra Curricular Clubs
At Alanbrooke Academy, our extra-curricular programme aims to extend the school day by implementing activities which enhance both mental and physical health and welfare as well as learning. Over the course of the academic year our enrichment program will provide opportunities that enhance all curriculum areas.
In addition to this, we aim to provide our pupils with an extensive range of sporting activities. These clubs offer our pupils the opportunity to take part in a range of different physical activities and sports, and also the chance to develop important skills such as leadership and teamwork.
We are part of the The School Games. This is a programme which puts physical activity and school sport at the heart of schools, providing young people with the opportunity to learn through competition to achieve their personal best. This means our pupils have numerous opportunities throughout the year to take part in competitions with other schools across Thirsk.
We are dedicated in our approach to offering a comprehensive range of extra-curricular opportunities. We believe that pupils can benefit greatly from enrichment opportunities that go beyond the taught curriculum, both in terms of their learning and their well-being. We also believe that it is important that pupils challenge themselves to take part in a wide range of activity types, some of which may take them out of their comfort zone.
